Our requirements
To join Logica on any programme, you must have the right to work in the UK.
Graduate programme and industrial placements
We typically look for a 2.1 degree (expected or obtained) in:
- IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
- Maths, Physics or a similar numerate subject
- Business or Management Studies (with an element of IT)
These requirements however are not set in stone. If they can demonstrate an excellent understanding of business technology, we’ll consider applicants with degrees in other subjects. Likewise, if an applicant has strong and relevant business experience, we’ll be happy to lower our minimum degree requirement to a 2.2.
Many graduates spend their early years as testers, programmers, systems analysts or in IT support roles. If you have a good knowledge of structured programming languages, databases or platforms, this would obviously be an advantage.
What’s certain though is that you’ll have first-rate communication skills and a strong customer ethos. We’re a people-driven business through and through. On every assignment, you’ll need to demonstrate that you understand the client’s business needs. As well as being articulate, you’ll need to have a flair for listening and engaging with people.
Right to work in the UK
We welcome applications from anyone who is legally entitled to work in the UK.
Work permits are not needed for industrial placements if you are an overseas student studying at a UK university.
If we invite you to an assessment centre, we’ll ask you to bring documentary evidence of your right to work in the UK with you. Documents acceptable as evidence include:
- A UK or European Economic Area passport;
- A letter from the immigration authority or a stamp on your passport showing you have the right to remain and work in the UK.
Due to the large number of applications we receive from resident qualified candidates, we are unable to sponsor work permits for graduate roles under current Home Office guidelines.
If you have a restriction on your right to remain and work in the UK you will need to show us how you intend to extend this right (e.g. that you will qualify for leave to remain under Tier 1 (General) of the UK Border Agency’s points-based system.) We regret that we are unable to sponsor applications under Tiers 2 and 5 of the UK Border Agency’s points-based system.
